Thanksgiving comes and goes, but pie recipes are forever. There’s one for every occasion: Caramelized maple sugar pie for a fall potluck. Peanut butter pie to celebrate the birthdays of your cake-averse friends (the topping is so plush, it can handle candles). An old-school lattice-crust pie bubbling over with summertime stone fruits, just begging to be eaten poolside.
Sure, some of these pie recipes are seasonal, like the classic pumpkin and pecan ones we bake every Turkey Day. But there are also plenty of pies to bake year-round: Luscious coconut and banana cream pies, each topped with freshly whipped cream; a chocolate pudding pie that’s just as rich as a tray of brownies; and an almond custard number baked in a deep-dish tin. Consider our best pie recipes proof that you can put just about anything into a flaky, buttery crust (or don’t bother with the crust and make one of these low-maintenance pies instead).
